Art Witness
Lacey Gregg-Mehojah, Painter · Witness · Maker
Art Witness is the creative practice of Lacey Gregg-Mehojah, an artist working across paint, photography, and code. The work begins outside, in nature, in place, and moves inward through five interconnected series, each exploring a different way of paying attention to the world.
Five Bodies of Work
- What Could Not Be Said, Floral paintings that hold the weight of what words cannot carry. Each bloom is a translation of grief, joy, and survival into color and form.
- The Colors of My Soul, Abstract works that map the inner landscape. These paintings explore emotional truth through bold color, texture, and intuitive mark-making.
- Earth as Memory, Landscape paintings rooted in place and belonging. The land remembers what we forget, these works honor that memory.
- Photography, A documentary practice of witnessing the world as it is. Light, shadow, and the sacred ordinary captured through the lens.
- Technology, Where code meets canvas. Digital tools as creative practice, building what should exist at the intersection of art and technology.
Making things in response to the world. What are we, and how do we hold each other? Painting what cannot be said. Building what should exist.
